Working from a background of art metals and sculpture, he became fascinated with medieval art and technology during his tenure as an art student in the 1980s. His early pieces were enameled armour pieces and these efforts soon led him into producing functional armour and weapons. Since 1990 he has been researching and reproducing martial equipment dating from ancient Greece through nineteenth century Europe. |
His work has been featured on the History Channel, in the Pacific Science Center in Seattle, the Institute for Classical Roman Archaeology in Innsbruck, Austria and in several books including "Knights and Armour", "Secrets of German Medieval Swordsmanship" and "Techniques of Medieval Armour Reproduction". His clients range from high school teachers who use the pieces for educational purposes, to re-enactors and performers, and to discerning collectors all over the world. |
